Snow, sun and skiing on the cusp of spring

While I escaped the exceptional January snowfalls in the Netherlands, there was snow after all – in late March, on a little skiing holiday to the Savoie in France.

The day of arrival saw some fresh snow (15cm+ !), so it really felt like a small escape and trip back into time, into winter. There was also plenty of sun, and also plenty of time to lounge in sunchairs next to the slopes and take in that Vitamin D.

As the week passed, you could see spring creeping up into the mountains. A path covered in snow at the beginning of the week, was completely melted down and showed its grey asphalt underneath by the end of the week. Mud peeking through snow. Driving back down, out of the snow, there was more and more green grass, daffodils and other tiny flowers taking a first peek above ground.
