a list of nice things (VIII): reading a lot

What to do when you are not doomscrolling, doom-read!! Kidding, read, escape to a better world, if you have to right now, understandable.

I am trying to get sucked into books more instead of endless scrolls or streaming. The added benefit is that I have a big big pile of unread books at my disposal. So many that I don’t want to count them, but I’d guesstimate the number at around a hundred (if not more). (I also probably should not have ordered twenty more books at the superdiscount store earlier this weekend.)

Here is a selection of the books, a mix of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, that I really enjoyed reading the past three months:

  • De perfecties, Vincenzo Latronico [translated from Italian, also into English: Perfection]
  • Garments against women, Anne Boyer
  • Ik bezorg pakketjes in Beijing, Hu Anyan [translated from Mandarin Chinese, also into English: I Deliver Parcels in Beijing]
  • Stad O., Koen Caris
  • Zoals onder water, Sara Novic [original in English: True Biz]
  • Het leven van sterren, Marwin Vos
  • Craft Psychology: How crafting promotes health, Anne Kirketerp
  • Beginning to speak, Diana Anphimiadi
  • One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, Omar El Akkad
  • I Don’t Want A Job / Not A Real Job: Choose Creativity Instead, Amie McNee, with James Winestock
  • Liv Maria, Julia Kerninon [translated from French, also into English: Liv Maria]
